YEAR IN REVIEW: TOP 5 VIDEO PRODUCTION PROJECTS OF 2020

2020 was a year like no other. But one thing remained — I worked with incredible clients on video production projects that pushed the envelope and made an impact in the film production world.

Here are my five favorite projects from 2020.

ABC’s The Bachelor – “Listen to your Heart”

For this shoot, we traveled from Orlando, Florida to Las Vegas with our Inspire 2 drone systems, which we used to shoot the opening sequences for the show. A challenge of shooting any place is knowing the best locations and vantage points with and without permits, and this was one of my favorite spots. It was a thrill to be part of this iconic American reality-TV show, but even more thrilled to help find our clients the perfect location for this shoot.

Toyota – Supra GT debut video

It’s always a great day as a camera operator, when you’re brought on to be part of the Filmotechnic’s Russian Arm team — especially when we’re shooting the debut of one of the most legendary cars on the market— the Toyota Supra GT.  This project, shot at night on the legendary Daytona International Speedway was — in a word — exhilarating.

Disney + Tastemade – Disney Eats brand content launch

Shooting food and families is always a lot of fun, and the Sony FS7 Mk2 made this project absolutely delicious. These tasty vignettes featuring families enjoying fun food from around the theme parks (say that three times fast!) This shoot was crazy-fun and ambitious, and our local Orlando production team worked our magic to deliver the Disney magic— and we had a great time doing it.

Taylor Morrison – Community Locator video

We love helping clients show off their prime locations in a new way. In these 360* drone aerials, we partnered with long-time friend and colleague, John Unrue to highlight his clients, Taylor Morrison and K. Hovnanian’s new developments. Our community locator videos visually and graphically show their proximities to all key landmarks that Florida has to offer.

Jaguar F-TYPE R – Collab with AllDayEveryDay Productions

Location: Virginia International Raceway, Virginia

It’s so exciting to finally be able to share this project. I was honored to shoot the new Jaguar F-TYPE R, with iconic racecar driver Canaan O’Connell at the Virginia International Raceway road course. This was an incredible project produced by AllDayEveryDay Productions. I always love operating camera from the FilmoTechnic Russian Arm car and flying the ARRI ALEXA Mini with Angenieux lenses. It was so thrilling — we hope you enjoy the final product! Head to our Instagram for a BTS of the incredible FPV work of Paul Nurkkala.
